Of all of the attributes and categories that apply to things, their whatness, thatness, how, when and why, their identity and modality, we can gain an awareness of putting them forth, and so they cannot be applied to what puts them forth, an act which therefore cannot be known as an act. All of this would seem to make of this source a somewhat less real, something imagined out of misapplied notions, when on the contrary it must be the sole and entirely unknowable reality. This intimation troubles reality but also constitutes its gateway into uncaused felicity.
