The block self or the integrated whole of experience is a regulative ideal rather than a reality. Experience is not a current but a weave in many dimensions which is only loosely structured around anything identifiable as a self. Other currents cross it, incidentally affecting the pattern without intention. Whatever it is, strange and fleeting condensations around repeated themes, then the same elements dissolving without a qualm.
