The 'phenomenological difference', that is between the phenomenal sphere and the (world of the) natural attitude, two realms with ultimately exactly the same contents, a difference thus in a certain impalpable attunement, is precisely what needs to be dissolved. One can see that this difference can have no metaphysical value, can only serve as a temporary expedient, a histological stain, without in any way being spared the ordeal of having to work through it. You cannot work on consciousness only on theories of consciousness. One conclusion of all of this ought to be that realism in the full sense of the term is a monism and hence akin to idealism, while materialism or nominalism is a false hard-headedness leading inevitably to solipsism or one of the many guises of nihilism (such as utilitarianism).
