It's not all the colourful objects with which you build the house of memory that constitute an image of the soul but the secret correspondences and echoes that connect them, often just simple relations that do not require masses of detail, or great wealth of spirit. Soul is unnervingly abstract, or seems so, because what it yearns for is of greater unity.
