If the human person consisted of a detachable and reincarnating soul in a temporary and perishable meat body then the sight of a crowd of people in a city street, or in a stadium at a sports event, or at a theatre or concert, or any collective activity large or small, would be quite horrific, rightly seen. And all the more so if there were no such immortal soul, a ghostless meat brain, or even a one-off soul placed here for quality determination. Is there any way to see this triumph of life, other than fallen ordinariness, that does not invite great anxiety?
