Consciousness is a kind of space, but it is not clear what kind. What makes it spatial is perhaps its vanishing points, of which the most obvious are the subject, the whole and certainty or (final) truth. These are unattainable, and mostly latent, and yet without them the whole thing would be unrecognisable. If this spatiality is fundamental then there is no reason why it cannot become inverted on itself, so that everything far becomes close and everything close far.
