There is no room for conclusions in this struggle to speak it. The moment you formulate a generalisation about what we do, we, the cohort of soul-workers, then you have created a distraction, a hindrance to further seeing. Generalisation leads to synthesis, but there is no achievable synthesis, metaphysics must remain at the level of whistlings in the dark, and if part of this is the urge to seek the authority of a tradition, by all means do so, but keep in mind that any solidity and continuity they appear to gain is just an appearance in the frame of an imposed context - a context which by nature cannot expose itself, or make itself transparent. But this is universally true. We could not function without such a framing, indeed there would be nothing to function with or about. Every act, whether mindful or not, is an intelligibility. But this is precisely what is so bedevilling, the stubborn intelligibility of the world - even the champions of derangement produce endless assertions. Still, if you give yourself an unlimited licence for inconsistency, where is the responsibility to balance it?
