Feelings are telescopic in that versions of the same pattern fold over each other; these correspondences can be more or less latent. It is impossible to say how far this goes, and anyway, after a few versions is it really the same pattern? A pattern of patterns unfolding in time can appear to converge on some attractor or diverge away from one in endless digression, and any adverbial qualifier of motion can apply. Oddly these two directions of movement can not only succeed each other but can even seem to be taking place simultaneously.
