To break out of an impasse it is not enough to dive beneath the presuppositions and imitations that maintain its circulation, you need to make those same moves on the pure surface of things, in the turbulence and contingency of the moment. You can never repeat an action, it must always be the first time. Actually there is no repetition, its is always the first time and you don't know what to do. But this goes against everything you have learned.
