Metaphysical speculation strives to go back behind experience in order to account for it in some more fundamental way, but whatever conceptual perspectivisation it employs is always subject to being in its turn perspectivised, and thus needing more rarefied and broken formulaic expression. In this way what was originally a question in experience becomes a question in thought without entirely letting go of the question of experience. In order to escape a bad infinity it needs to reify some sort of impasse in the form of a concept which is not a concept, or a concept which embraces its own non-conceptuality. This pattern is embodied in every different venture along these lines and always in ways that seem fresh, that use fresh words in freshly ungrammatical ways. What remains seem to be only ideological commitments which return in full force after seeming to have been superseded. The speculatively experiencable, for example, is opposed to the speculatively unexperiencable as idealism to materialism. All of this is a distraction from, or a repression of the basic question in experience or the frustrating brick wall this side of conceptuality to which you cannot orient yourself by means of thinking. They are elaborations of a prior and definitive faith in the limits of the possible.
