It is a deliberate kind of focus that individualises and separates things in your world, a way of choosing to see what you want to see, of rendering the climate of being. And so you gain a little freedom of movement in relation to others, a certain illusion of a private world, and a way of seeing choices as 'just happening'. But your privacy is as illusory as it is on the internet. In reality everything is connected to everything else and your most anonymous actions have the most transparently apposite repercussions. This is what is apparent when the barriers are dissolved in the sleepless small hours. And is this also true for all those anonymous agents who wreak such havoc over the actual internet? Is there yet another web, a sort of causal plane on which their consequences are infallibly readdressed? This can hardly be doubted, because where else would they go but back to their source. Yes, yes, all that purposive action is beside the point, is dreamlike, agreed, but since there is nothing to experience apart from such dreams, your transcendental loyalties won't spare you, there is no escaping the blow-back.
