For some of the time he experienced being in the body as a sort of choice, while at other times he felt released and choice became irrelevant. It was not, he concluded, the adventures of a mind in a body in a world but a series of changes in focalisation. These could produce the most subtle alterations in the quality of being, gifts that seemed invite his appreciation, as well as assaults by dissonances that threw him into turbulent disphoria.
