The particularity of consciousness is strange because it cannot be defined within any of the worlds that consciousness itself projects, it escapes the terms of both the objective and subjective, of the real and the ideal, it falls under no 'it gives'. If you try to think it in any of these terms you end up with the category error of solipsism, and you surrender it. To do so however is to miss the clue that it offers which must be taken up by thoughtless attention.
