You can detach the experiencing from any experience but in doing so you make the experiencing into an experience with this difference, that while the objective that is not-self can be varied or simply substituted with another, the objective that is self cannot. Self is what chooses the particular out of the unlimited so it cannot itself be chosen. It is chosen without choice.
