Accommodation to the life ways presented by your corner of civilisation, which is never fully achieved is easily confused with metaphysical accommodation to being, also never achieved. These are two separate deficiencies each of which casts a shadow onto the other. The confusion is a kind of poetry, their distinction a different kind.
