Every distinct thing perceived within the field of experience is a appearance of the field of experience, sometimes called consciousness, and not of some noumenon furnishing a transcendent world. This way of seeing resembles solipsism only as far as the source of experience is regarded as itself a thing. It might be thought of as an 'open solipsism' to which the usual objections do not apply.
