When you emerge from an absorbing movie in the late afternoon the world seems more colourful, more real, more interesting than it was before. The power of imagination that you have been exercising to suture together the world in the movie out of a succession of flat images is the same power that you use at every waking moment to construct the world out of your sensations, but when it is refreshed its work becomes easier, more transparent and more delightful. In effect it is more self-aware and instead of this resulting in a more dream-like world what you receive is one that is more real. Reality is thus the very opposite of what you think it is.
