What passes for truth in metaphysics is a reflection of the kind of being who develops that metaphysics. One would expect an alien life-form possessed of language or of something corresponding to language, to have an entirely different set of basic concepts, or habits of motive and meaning. And yet a meeting of some sort would be possible, a mutual acknowledgement, but only on the basis of shared being, outside of any concepts, outside of the tyranny of will. But this rarely happens even between different humans; which shows how deeply this kind of realisation is buried beneath our ways of carrying on.
