In any questioning there must be a setting up of that which is questionable and that on whose basis the questionable is taken as questionable - in ordinary terms these are respectively the mystery and the inquirer - and these are each the condition of the other. It is only after the inquirer, as ordinarily understood, the one who wants to know, himself or itself becomes part of the mystery that deeper terms have to be sought for this relation. That this deepening is itself a questioning points also to the observation that in the genuine questioning what is sought is not remote but is already contained within the situation - it is a seeking to reveal what is ever-present but hidden. Thus it is not a questioning on the basis of a subject but on the basis of truth, not in the logical sense but as disclosedness. These considerations do not do away with the subject, the who the is both questioner and questioned, but alter its context, alter the angle with which it is lit.
