The only significant notion of a self is the inquiring self, the self of the question. This self can wonder and plan for other selves which do not share its particular posture in existence. The subject changes so much according to the occasion that every attempted summary is filled with gaps, gaps between overlapping leaves. There is a reality where the self ought to be and a self where reality ought to be.
