There are so many different lines of investigation aimed at the constitution of this reality, whether internally, from inside or from outside invoking a metaphysics. If the aim is to make us feel at home, perhaps for the first time, then it not being served. Instead the accumulation of foundational speculations weans us progressively from every familiar footing, alienates the world as if that is our proper destiny.
