The idea is to apply your intuition in order to build a bridge connecting this shore to the other shore, to synthesise the character of that other so as to better explain it, to show how it could be the fulfillment of all of your values, or value itself, and so how there is nothing to fear - to make it more plausible, more friendly. But this would legitimate the seeker. How can there be such a bridge when neither side is real to the other? There must be a 'solution de continuité' and hence there can be no strategising against the fear of non-existence. Alternatively, it could be described as striving to discover the last thought, the thought at the end of the mind. Being at the end of the mind, at the end of the thinker, is not a property of the thought, is not the release of a spring concealed within the thinking, but rather the accidental attainment of a point of susceptibility. It is not a portal, no one goes through the non-existent gate, rather a kind of surprising absorption in which how to create yourself is forgotten.
