Any visual composition with terms in relational tension is a transformation of the space defined by the doubling and differing of vowels. When there are just two of these the sense of them is bound up with the sexual awareness of early childhood. This is an immature understanding for which the meaning of the genitals is made strange by virtue of their different forms being linked to the entirely different but also mysterious difference of genders. Many notions which subsequently diverge greatly are packed together in this early experience. That a form may be a signature of another subjectivity, defined as a contiguous but unknown place of enjoyment, is an extraordinarily rich and ambiguous starting point for encountering the world.
